COMPOSITE PANELS
For a structural panel core we can produce any thickness of Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) from 6mm to 165mm in various sheet sizes. Where the panel core has to achieve a higher fire performance we can either offer CASSPIR polyisocianurate foam with a class 1 surface spread of flame or Insul-phen phenolic foam with a class 0 surface spread of flame. Both of these are available from 18mm thick upwards.
Ravatherm XPS X H RTM extruded polystyrene (XPS) thermal insulation is recommended as a core material in sandwich panels for the walls, floors, roofs and doors in refrigerated trucks and containers. Ravatherm XPS X H RTM rigid insulation has been specifically designed to withstand severe dynamic loads and stresses that may eventually lead to fatigue and failure and in tests has been shown to perform extremely well under dynamic load cycling. With long term proven performance and creep data, Ravatherm XPS X H RTM is an ideal engineered product that designers may confidently specify in today’s increasingly highly loaded floor designs. For sandwich panel cores, the lightweight, close tolerance, dust-free surface allows for excellent bonding to a wide variety of sheet materials.
FABROCK CWP is designed for composite panels providing an A1 non-combustible core material for façade, cladding and glazed in spandrel panels. The boards are available in 1mm increments with a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm which makes FABROCK CWP the perfect solution for fire resistant sandwich panels.
FABROCK 411 EDGE boards are designed for composite panels providing an A1 non-combustible hard edge for façade, cladding and glazed in spandrel panels. Available in 1200mm x 1000mm x 50mm, the boards can be cut into strips to suit the panel core thickness providing a hard edge detail. The strips are rotated 90 degrees with the off-white coating providing guidance as to the correct way to install the lamella strips for maximum compressive strength.
FABROCK THERM 413 boards are designed to bond to the back of composite panels containing a FABROCK THERM 413 A1 non-combustible core. FABROCK THERM 413 provides additional thermal and acoustic insulation where required. The boards have one close tolerance face for bonding to the rear of the panel. The external side has a factory applied aluminium foil face. Additional foil tape can be applied to the exposed edge detail for aesthetics.
CASSPIR are rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam boards free of CFC and HFCF gas. The rigid PIR foam is a variant of the polyurethane (PUR) foam; although it is practically identical in appearance, mechanical and thermal properties, it has a greater resistance to fire and temperature. In fires, the PIR foam reacts creating a superficial carbonised layer protecting and impeding the penetration of fire toward inner layers. The formulation and design of the CASSPIR foam give it specific thermal and mechanical properties which make it especially suitable as a thermal insulator to store and transport LNG (liquefied natural gas), general cryogenic applications as well as the core in composite panels for a diverse range of construction applications. CASSPIR is available in 2000x1200mm sheet size in any thickness from 18mm upwards.
Supaphen phenolic is CFC and HCFC free with a zero ozone depletion potential.
Supaphen complies with the requirements of the European Standard EN13166 for factory made products of phenolic foam for the thermal insulation of buildings.
Supaphen is fire and smoke safe. Supaphen has been tested to BS476 parts 6 & 7 meeting the requirements of Class 0 to UK building regulations.
Supaphen is highly thermally efficient with a maximum aged K value of 0.024 W/mk tested to European standard EN12667.
Supaphen is manufactured as a rigid block at a standard density of 40kg/m3. FOAMtech fabricate sheet material from the block at a uniform thickness and to close tolerances.

Available in a range of sheet sizes and thicknesses from 6-165mm, Ravatherm XPS H LB (previously Styrofoam LBHX) boards have a calibrated dust free surface that provides an excellent key for lamination. Ideal for production of composite panels due to Ravatherm’s unique high strength in compression, tension, bending and shear. The high strength to weight ratio is particularly important in applications such as commercial vehicles. Due to its homogenous cell structure and uniform density Ravatherm can be cut very accurately and to very close tolerances. The closed cell structure ensures that Ravatherm retains its performance even when in permanent contact with moisture. Ravatherm material is resistant to most acids and salts, it does not rot and its thermal and mechanical properties have been proven long-term. Ravatherm XPS H LB provides reliable and durable thermal insulation performance.
